1. Brushing twice and especially at night
Throughout the day, we eat, drink various foodstuffs, a lot of ph alteration happens in the oral cavity, a lot of soft food remains stuck and brushing at night is the best tool to fight this plaque and germs and reduce decay susceptibility.
2. Use interdental aids.
Normally most patients are lazy to clean areas between 2 teeth and that’s where the decay process is most commonly seen.. so using dental floss, interdental brush or a water floss is a must

3. Tounge: never to be skipped.
Bad odor is all coz of the germs resting on your tongue so make tongue cleaning as your regular practice.
4. Toothpaste with optimum fluoride.
1000 ppm is the regular fluoride content advisable as it helps in mineralization of tooth and creating a barter on your teeth to fight dental caries. so use a paste which has that optimum level. Avoid using very fancy and coloured pastes, they do tend to stain teeth as well
5. Water is must
Frequent drinking of water will help u maintain a neutral level of ph in the mouth and will also help in washing out all germs in the mouth
Lifetime use of mouthwash is not recommended.
Using mouthwash in old patients wherein proper oral hygiene cannot be followed is acceptable.
